Come friendly bombs, fall on... Swaffham?

Check out which depressing towns the USSR was pointing nukes at in 1967 .

Long before Len became famous, he drew the picture below for me.  Oddly it doesn't appear on his blog, so here it is now for you to enjoy, in it's original VGA glory.

Silly Bike Time

Took the CBR out for the first time in months, after servicing it (13,510 miles), 'cos it was actually a sunny day!  It was just as painful in urban areas as I remembered, and just as breathtaking on fast B-roads.  I remain a bit frightened of it, which I suppose is good...

Stirrings

First post of the year and it's Captain Pinky , who's due to return to the community in the next couple of months (assuming I can afford the bloody insurance).  Loads of condensation suggest the rain rail (in the base of the hood) has failed.  There was so much mould on the steering wheel I had to use neat bleach. Jobs to do include replacing the brake fluid, seeing if the calipers can be coaxed back into motion, engine service, and it probably needs tyres too.

Skidz

I had to put a new front tyre on the VFR today, after I lost the front end going around a bend recently. That's the first time it's happened (excluding that trip into the scenery on my 125), but didn't result in a spill. Replacement is another Pilot Road 3, mileage is now 48,800ish - let's see how long it lasts.  Old one barely lasted longer than the rear, but then that did manage at least 10K. Pilot Road 4 has been announced , not available until next year though.  In the meantime, have another pic of the new VFR800:

EVE Online

I started playing this last weekend, when the dreadful weather prevented me doing anything else. It's a space MMORPG and it's a quite a bit like that golden oldie  Elite , except it's massively complex. In fact it's almost overwhelming at first and I would have given up within a couple of days, but for the weather and the fact it's free for the 1st month. I'm still not sure if I like it, but I'm compelled to keep going.

Gravity

Went to see Gravity in 3D - was absolutely blown away.  It's just incredible.
