MX5 rain rail, part 1

Made a start on sorting out the rain rail today.  The rusted panel above the fuel tank confirms it has indeed been leaking... I did try to re-use the old rail but it's shrunk and wouldn't go on.
Old rail was made from a section of old hood material, here in all it's glory:

The hood sits within this U-shaped drain, which feed into drain holes behind the seat belt towers.  Said holes were blocked with mud and debris, but the aerial mast provided a handy tool for clearing them.
As mentioned before, new rain rails are still available from Mazda but cost £174.  A non-OEM is available for about £90 but it doesn't have good reviews, so I bought this instead from Wickes, for £8.50!
this is as far as I got before a storm brewed up, looks promising though.
